TRIP JOURNAL FEATURES
---------------------------------------
We have a new and improved version of our award-winning travel app that makes it easier than ever to create a media-rich travelogue of your travel experiences and share them with friends and family.

In version 7.1, Trip Journal continues to offer you great features to create a memorable travelogue. But now it is also iOS 5 compatible and includes support for Retina Display so you can see your trips on the screen in vivid display like never before. You asked us to make Trip Journal simpler to use so we’ve also made it much easier to create trips and understand how to use Waypoints. We went to work on this request and now there is no need to navigate through multiple menus and screens -- you can create your trip with a few simple steps in one main screen. Waypoints are now called Places and it’s much clearer how to organize all the media and notes for the Places that you’ve add on the map in your trip journal.

Record Your Trip with GPS route tracking, and use automatic or manual positioning to add your favorite places and destinations. Trip Journal can automatically define your location and you can easily add geo-tagging to photos and videos.

Everyone loves travel photos and videos. You can add them to Trip Journal from your iPhone Photo Gallery or take them in Trip Journal. The photos and videos taken with Trip Journal are also saved in the iPhone Photo Gallery at full camera resolution and can be added to previously created Places you’ve added in your journal. Say you want to add some video of you trekking the last leg of your journey at the Great Wall of China. You’d never want to forget that moment. Trip Journal gives you two quality options for recorded video. All that adds up to plenty of great photos and videos of your trip that you can later send by email, connect to Facebook and share, or upload to Picasa, Flickr, or YouTube.

Maybe there are some special things you want to jot down to remember about a place you visited. You can write notes in the journal to describe your vacation experiences and you can add comments to photos and videos as well.

When you are ready to Share Your Trip, we’ve integrated Trip Journal with your favorite social networks and content sharing portals, including Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, YouTube, and Twitter, to bring you more interactivity than ever before.

With Google Earth integration, Trip Journal allows friends and family to easily see the route you traveled, the places you found most interesting, and full screen photos, videos, and comments about the places you visited. It even includes trip stats like the distance, time and geography you traveled.

What you get in the end with Trip Journal are one-of-a-kind travel journals handcrafted by you, rich with your travel experience and full of great travel memories captured for many years to come that you can share anytime and anywhere, with family and friends far or near.

A FEW TIPS FROM US
---------------------------------------
Trip Journal runs on the iPad and on iPod touch, but it is not specifically designed for these devices. Location features (Track Route, Geo-tagging and Maps) are available only in Wi-Fi spots. You can add pictures and videos to your trips from the Photo Library.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Pros and cons of Trip Journal app for iPhone and iPad

Trip Journal app good for

Bravo le graphisme est superbe. Jai hate de lutiliser pour notre prochain voyage.
Cool app. I like it. Curious for the next updates :) But needs better battery life
Support is not so good. Have not been able to save pictures in the iPhone library either
If your looking for a gps tracking program for the iPhone to record your trip then look no further,
This looked good... But I was halfway through a trip when i purchased this and I see no way of adding previous days in a trip. You can only add information for your current day. There really does need to be some sort of timeline admin! The app looks brilliant, and Ill continue to hope that improvements and new features will be added!
Very plesant interface and easy to use! I very much like the fact that when you take a photo it saves the full size in your camera roll (motionX just saves as a 640*480 image). The kmz and email export is also much much nicer in presentation than motionXs ... a definite bonus when sending your journal to friends and family. -------------------------------------- Features That Would Be Nice -------------------------------------- - brightness control on lock screen - iPod integration for music controls - Map views from multiple sources Overall ... very good built app and might stand a chance at replacing MotionX on my phone once iPod integration is at hand .... gotta have your music on hikes and hate having to interupt GPS tracking to change playlist. I very much look forward to sharing my journeys on Vancouver Island BC, across Canada and my up comming Belize exploration!

Some bad moments

This app was so promising, and looked great but has been totally abandoned by its developers. Too bad...
1 star because its nagging me to rate it. I bought it do sod off!
There are definitely several apps that do this job better. First, the design is really clunky. One example: the export page has several icons, some of which are obvious (Facebook), some are not. When exporting, a page pops up with an explanation of whats going to happen, but its quickly replaced with a progress overlay, and when its done it disappears. You never actually get to read whats going to happen. The whole app is kind of like that. Worst, is that the app is "free", but after a few trips you have to buy the ability to make more. This is not mentioned on the app description, which is very dishonest IMHO.
There may be some new things added in the upgrade. But the interface is so boring and lost all its originalities. Some basic functions are missing, for example, Why cant I choose a photo from the library? Why are the basic iPhone camera functions not available (zoom, grid, focus)? Very disappointed with the new release.
Poor Hard to use. Confusing. When transfer to computer. Lost trip.
It seems like a great app, but it has some major flaws. First, you cannot upload a photo you have already taken, such as from your photostream. That is ridiculous. Second, there is no cloud storage at all. This means that (a) one has to manually export data in the proprietary file format, which is not conducive to ease of use while traveling; (b) I had to reset my phone yesterday and lost all my data. Why not have a login system, like most trip apps do? This would also allow users to access and manage their data on their computers and other devices too. The third major flaw Ive noticed so far is the battery drain. I know other users have this problem too. Went to bed at 60%, woke up at 2%. When I shut off the app, this does not happen. So, I dont know why this app is so well-liked. I wish I had not made the purchase.
